Brief Introduction of the Pharmaceutiional Factory of Tibet Autonomous Region

Factory of The Tibet Traditional Hospital in Tibet Autonomous Region. It was founded in 1964, and developed on the basees of the "Chagpori Hill" (Hill of the Medicine King) Medical Institute for the Populatioin (which was presented before the Tibet Democracy Reform) and the Tibetan traditional medicine processing factory of "Mentsi Khang" (one Medicine and Education Center in Tibet in that time). It is located in the Holly City-Lhasa with beautiful scenery and convenient transportation. At present, it is the biggest traditional Tibetan medicine producing center in China with the longest history, the most skillful technique and the most abundant funds. It is composed of two producing lines, one is for the 62important projects for supporting Tibet. It was appointed as a patriototism base of Tibet in 1999. As a base for the traditioinal medicine production and teaching, the pharmaceutical factory of Tibet Autonomous Region is equipped with the advanced drug processing method, the excellent skillful technique, and the professional personals who have been well trained with rich experience. At present, there are 130 staff with 36 professional technicians. The area of this factory is covered more than 30,000 square meters. In order to improve the quality of our productions, one new assembly line for the drug form accorded with the GMP standard was set up by ourselves in 1998.
For this 30 years, with the introduction of the advanced and scientific producing equipment and the advanced technique of Chinese traditional medicine form another factories in the mainland, combined with the traditional Tibetan medicine producing process, it is this factory who first use the modern mechanic producing method to replace the manual processing way. It is this factory who first put the Tibetan medicine into the market. According to the principle of traditional Tibetan medicine, using the natural, precious Tibetan herbs growing up in the 4000 meters high land, by the method of combination the advanced, scientific techniques with the traditional ones, the "manna" production is manufactured from this factory. At present, the main drug form produced from our factory is the traditional "also pill" form. We have the capability of producing about 250 kinds of this form with 37,000 kilogram production per year, and 46million RMB Yuan of gross value of industrial output. Until now, there are 30 kinds of productions attained the permission in China. Among of them, the famous Ratna Sampil (Pearl Pill 70), Renchen Drangjor, Yu Ning 25 (Turquoise 25), Pearl Pill 25 Renchen Mangior etc 11 Kinds of productions were approved by the Ministry of Health as national protected traditional medicines in 1997. All of the medicines above are the excellent drugs for gastric ulcer, chronic atrophic gastritis, hepatitis, arthritis, and the central nervous system diseases. The drugs mentioned above make a medical breakthrough in the clinic treatment. Particularly, we have the unique patent for "Refine Pellet by Tso Thal" technique, which is the best Tibetan medicine processing method. The productions from our factory have been displayed in many different big exhibitions National Cultural Exhibition of Chinese Traditional Medicine, the golden metal prize in the Second Inter*national Exhibition of Patent and New Technique and products, the golden metal prize in the National Exhibition of Applied Result and Technique from the "Spark Plan", the golden metal prize in the Second Natio-nal Exhibition of the New Technique and Profucts. Ratna Sampil (Pearl Pill 70) was recommended by the China National Medicine and Pharmacy Association in 1999. The traditional Tibetan medicine is one part of precious traditional medicine in medical treasure house of China. With more than 2000 years history, it has given a great contribution to the development and flourishing of Tibetan Minority and Chinese Nationality. We have many kinds of productions with rich clinic experience of zzpollution. Following the principle of "as the science for our guide, as the market for our focus, develop the excellent Tibetan medicine productions and serve for the human health", we will make the progress always, improve the efficiency of our production, do the effort for the research and development of Tibetan medicine, supply the efficient, saety, and high quality Tibetan productions to the society with our honest and pioneering spirit.
