ˇˇˇˇGold and silver vessels are tra-ditional Tibetan arts and crafts
dating back 1,000 years. They are generally divided into two categories:
I) Decorated goods such as bracelet, ring, necklace, headwear, brooch,
sheath and snuff bottle;2)living
utensils such as wine pot, wine cup, spoon, chopsticks, bowl and
plate. Some of them are made from pure gold and silver, others are
inlaid with gold and silver. Skillful craftsmen and artisans create
various designs on fine and exquisite gold and silver vessels such
as dragon, phoenix, tiger and lion.
ˇˇ ˇˇWith
a history of over 2,000 years, Tibet's copper manu-facturing is
worth mentioning. It is also indispensable in Ti-betan people's
production and living. For example, the fire stove, pot, basin,
bottle, jar, sheath, saddle, Buddhist statue and sacrificial vessels,
as well as decorations on buildings and tools are all exquisitely
processed by hand. They are elegantly shaped and possess strong
Tibetan style.
