Suocuo, from Suo County, takes the strain as

he becomes the champion for lifting a stone

weighing more than 130 kilograms in a

traditional stone lifting contest held in Nagqu,

4,500 metres above sea level. Herdsmen from

the grasslands of northern Tibet gathered in the town to show their

strength and enjoy the rare warm weather in an
area that is covered with snow for almost half

of the year.
