Bome Gang Nature Reserve
 
This nature reserve, aiming to protect the high-yield spruce forest, and other rare plants and animals, is located 22 kilometers west of Zham County. The reserve is about 12 kilometers east to west and about 24 kilometers north to south, covering a total area of 4,600 hectares. The forest covers over 2,800 hectors, the percentage of forest cover being over 61 percent.

    
              An immense forest in snow

The growth speed, continuous growing period and unit stock volume of the forest in this reserve are far greater than its counterpart in and out of China, especially the spruces. This reserve is characterized by high mountains and luxuriant trees. With ancient trees touching the sky, the reserve is a haunt of rare wild animals. There is also a rich resource of various rare medicinal herbs.
