Tibetan singers
and songs about Tibet have secured a prominent position
in China¨s modern and popular music. Maybe it is premature
to judge whether an effort is successful or not when it
is in its early stages. It is the same with the modernization
of the Tibetan music. But one thing is for sure, these
pop songs have helped bring Tibetan music to a greater
number of people.
